Updated info on the Iranian invasion.

Unofficial and unconfirmed are 4, that's right, 4 different incursions or invasions into another country in the ME.

How much longer this pressure cooker is going to boil before it blows is something only G*D knows. And since we as a nation, society and civilization have booted HIM out...we are left with no protection, insight or influence.

And mercy is going to be hard come by!

DEBKAfile reports: Iranian Revolutionary Guards suicide unit's incursion of S. Iraq is another step in undeclared war.

Early this week, Tehran deployed in southern Iraq and southern Iran contingents of Revolutionary Guards Corps of suicide fighters in anticipation of an American attack on Iranian soil. Those units were posted to fight off a possible US Marines landing in southern Iran. Tehran believes the American force will be assigned with destroying RG bases and infrastructure in the south and sabotaging the oil wells and installations of Iranian province of Khuzestan.

The RG fighters were dropped by helicopter in southern Iraq on June 24 and 25. Their task will be to launch suicide attacks on US and British bases and command posts in the region the moment Iran comes under American attack.

Also in anticipation of a showdown, Tehran announced Tuesday at only two hours notice the rationing of gas for Iran's private motorists to 100 liters per month. Protesters started torching gas stations Wednesday. For lack of refining capacity, the oil-rich country imports 40% of its gasoline needs and oil products. Tehran sharply reined in private consumption to free up reserves for the armed forces in case of war and keep power stations and water supplies running in an emergency.

DEBKAfile's military sources report that these two steps in three days attest to the certainty of Iran's government and military that a military confrontation with the US is around the corner. The British Sun newspaper first disclosed the Iranian troop thrust into southern Iraq Monday, June 25, reporting: "It is an extremely alarming development and raises the stakes considerably. In effect, it means we are in a full war with Iran – but nobody has officially declared it.

"DEBKAfile's military experts add: In effect, the Iranian military incursion of Iraq is the fourth military invasion of foreign territory underway in the Middle East at this very moment. None are officially admitted.

1. The Turkish army is fighting Kurdish PKK rebels in Iraqi Kurdistan on the other side of their border. Almost daily, Turkish units backed by tanks, fighter planes and helicopters cross into northern Iraq and battle with the rebels. Washington, Ankara, Baghdad and Irbil blandly ignore this ongoing war.

2. In the second week of the six-week long confrontation between the Lebanese army and the pro-Damascus radical Palestinian Fatah al-Islam near Tripoli, the Syrian army and security service began pushing into the embattled camp reinforcements of hundreds Palestinian fighters, members of groups under their control. These fighters, an estimated 1,600-strong, have since fanned out in clusters in northern Lebanon, the Beqaa Valley, the mountains north of Tripoli and south of Beirut. The Syrian army keeps them well supplied with ammunition, food and fuel.

3. Israeli tank and armored infantry forces conduct ongoing counter-terror operations against Hamas, Jihad Islami and allied Palestinian terrorist groups in southern and northern Gaza. Since the Palestinian Islamist Hamas takeover of Gaza last week, Israeli tanks supported by helicopter and pilot-less aircraft are engaged in ongoing firefights with Palestinian anti-tank units.

I truly hope this is the beginning of the end for Iran. I really think that they have bitten off more than they can chew this time.

DEBKA has been an extremely unreliable source. I wouldn't put much into what they say.

However since we refuse to call the Iraq fiasco a civil war I have to presume that we are trying to soften the populace for an incursion into Iran and it you though Iraq was a disaster, just wait.

Of course you could focus on the more immediate and accurate reports of Turkish incursions into Kurdistan and the implications of the Kurds reclaiming Kirkuk. As they say, "trying to keep the Kurds from Kirkuk is like trying to keep the jews from Jerusalem."

Then they get the oil money and bring the whole region down when they declare an independent Kurdistan.

Make no mistake, Israel goes down with it.

Ducky it's a mess and it's turning into a poisonous stew. But Israel will survive, it will be by a miracle, but they will.
This war has not been treated as a war, so it is not succeeding as it could have. Certain parties want the US to fail, and I hope they enjoy the trap they have dug under their own feet!
I know DEBKA does use their position to use misinformation against their enemies. But why isn't this being covered in the lsm? Why are they more concerned about ph wanting hair extensions?

reminds me of one of my favorite lines from "paint your wagon" where the town collapses into the tunnels they've been digging underneath - lee marvin's character is standing there when the preacher falls through the earth in front of him and he says, "welcome to hell, parson!"

that said, i'd concur we are individually on our own with the Lord as our companion, or not.

p.s. not to mention the syria/lebanon border...yikes.

Excellent article. I'm usually reluctant to quote DEBKAfile, for the very reason Ducky's Here stated. Many folks don't give any value to DEBKAfile, claiming it is a shill for Israel. If I can find other sources to back DEBKA up, I try.

Having said that, I have no personal doubts that these reports are true.

(No source you can quote) but the incursion into Kurdistan has been instigated by Shia from the South in Iraq, hoping to pull troops out of Baghdad into the North. So far it has not worked. There have been two major incursions in the North, a third is planned, but has not happend yet.

i'm completely amazed at the rapidity of the events unfolding.

All according to plan and on schedule.
Debbie-I am aware of the sometimes disengenious nature of DEBKA, and I have looked for other sources that I can quote or use. But since there are none, at the moment, I will compare against Scripture and pray, a lot!
The porousness of the Syrian/Lebanese border is especially worrying, the Lebanese for the most part distrust and fear Syria, but there are enough people in high places to facilitate that stewpot. And I wouldn't be surprised if that little insurrection they have been dealing with wasn't orchestrated from Damascus! Who is playing footsie with, surprise! Iran.
And of course access to Lebanon also gives access to the paloswinians...as far as I know, 1+1 still = 2!

this i found in my reading material while i was away:

Iran's long game sets stage for war - www.timesonline.co.uk

ISRAEL awoke last Friday to find itself encircled by enemies with its most determined foe, Iran, entrenched on its southern doorstep in Gaza.

Hamas's stunningly swift victory in a brief civil war has left the Jewish state at its must vulnerable for three decades.

Inspired by a philosophy of militant Islam and backed by Iranian weaponry and military training, Hamas poses a direct threat to Israel and, if left unchecked, will soon be in a position to step up its lethal rocket attacks on towns and villages across the border.

In Lebanon to the north, Israel faces Hezbollah, the militant Syrian-backed militia, which has rebuilt its frontline forces - also with Iranian help - since last summer's war exposed the shortcomings of the Israeli defence forces. The Lebanese government can do little to curb Hezbollah's growing strength.

"Tehran has succeeded in planting an Iranian division in the north and now they have a foothold in the south by establishing their southern division - Hamas," said a source in Israel's defence ministry.

Then there is Syria, with which Israel is still officially at war. Damascus is demanding the return of the Golan Heights, occupied by Israel since 1967. Ehud Olmert, the Israeli prime minister, said recently his country did not want war with Syria but warned that a "miscalculation" could spark one.

To the east - beyond Jordan - lie the deeply unstable Iraq and the greatest threat of all in Israeli eyes, Iran. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, has declared that Israel should be "wiped off the map" and continues to advance a nuclear programme in defiance of the United Nations security council.

Israeli intelligence has little doubt that if Israel or the US attacks Iran's burgeoning uranium enrichment programme, much of the retaliation will come from Tehran's clients on its borders.

They are also watching a fierce debate inside the US administration between doves led by Condoleezza Rice, the secretary of state, and hawks such as Vice-President Dick Cheney, on the repercussions of any military strike against Iran.

With the doves seemingly holding the upper hand in Washington, US support for a hardline Israeli response may be fading. But Israeli leaders continue to warn that they will prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Ehud Barak, who is expected to be appointed defence minister tomorrow, met Olmert to agree a crisis plan to deal with the threat of Hamas before Olmert left for Washington to meet President George W Bush this week.

"Israel will not tolerate a Hamastan at its back door," said one of Barak's close associates."

Yeah, I covered this a few posts down. It is going to take a miracle from G*D to save Israel from her external and INTERNAL enemies!
Such blindness and lack of concern over survival, I just can't wrap my head around the astounding foolishness.

I've found that DEBKAfile is only unreliable when it is their intention to be so. Teasing out the real from the maskirovka can be challenging at times. Filter it through multiple geopolitical analysis sources. You know how the spook business goes.

That said, DEBKA is hosted on the Moscow Times servers.

Make of that what you will.

Misinformaton in the fine art of war...but I have received info from a good source who cannot(for security reasons)pass on even semiofficially, certain information ON THE GROUND.
Therefore I am not able to use it. But it verifies that something is going on in central and southern Iraq.
And any check of an atlas would show just how direct a shot across Iraq is to Israel.
And standing in the path is Syria, how hard do you think they would fight to keep the Iranians out? Or would they make a show of, "Oh horrors, we're invaded"? Or would they enthusiastically join the mob?
Point taken by Hezbullah and flanked by Gaza(Hamas) and the West Bank(Fatah)?
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

I remember DEBKA reporting that thousands of Turkish army troops were crossing the border into northern Iraq in early 2003.

All of a sudden, Saddam Hussein had 150,000+ Kurdish peshmerga on his northern flank.

I'm guessing they took their "Turkish army" uniforms off once they got across the border.

The Merry Widow said...

Heheheheheheh!
Surprise Party!
Works for me, guess the kurds were a little peeved by him...hmmmm?

Mr. Beamish the Kakistocrat said...

I think the surprise party was the airstrip northeast of Kirkuk quietly prepared by the Kurds for C-130 transport planes in late 2002.

All of a sudden, America had an airbase in Iraq.

(And now we have five...)

Hiya Iran.

And how many in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan...? And how about that little atoll in the Indian Ocean? Something about B-52s?
